Welcome to the Resurrection Beat Machine! This blog is dedicated to lost 60s pop songs from the US, UK and abroad. Whenever possible, please purchase music and support the artists / labels.

In celebration of the new Pink Floyd Early Years release, I thought that I'd post a song by a great under-appreciated psych band with lots of material that languished in the vaults for years called Kaleidoscope (UK). By this point, they were confusingly and loftily re-Christened Fairfield Parlour. The group were not nearly as commercially successful as Pink Floyd. Their material was more experimental pop, similar to the best early Floyd singles. Pop is never a slight, as far as I am concerned. Interestingly, critics often dismiss pop as simple, when, in fact, it is the most difficult music to write.

  1. Not quite as upbeat as Kaleidoscope World from The Chills, but still a nice listen. Thanks for posting.
